Data and Goal Conferences
And for the 2 of you that we haven't met with yet...you have a lot to live up to! ;)
Red and Black Superstar
The program remains in effect for all elementary and middle school campuses. Since we did reduce the number of nominating periods for middle school, we increased the number of winners. To summarize, we plan to recognize:
Elementary Schools: 1 student per grade plus 2 CISD employees (80 total)
Middle Schools: 3 students per grade plus 3 CISD employees (36 total)
The first nomination deadline is on October 7th. Subsequent deadlines are December 9th and March 3rd. The 4th deadline will be set by each school.
The awards will be very similar. Each winner will receive a Super Star shirt, a certificate and a stylus/pen (in the first period, some may receive a mechanical pencil).
The awards can be presented at assemblies, during announcements or in the classroom. You choose.
Students can be nominated by any CISD employee. CISD employees can be nominated by a parent, a middle-school student or a CISD employee.
Nominations can be made at http://www.coppellisdef.com/r-b-super-star.

Coppell Gifted Association Memberships
The Coppell Gifted Association is celebrating their 10th anniversary of supporting gifted students, their parents and educators in CISD!
All CISD educators will receive a free educator membership to CGA by filling out the attached form by October 12. Educators may also register to become professional members of the Texas Association for Gifted and Talented using the same form. Those educators who are both CGA and TAGT professional members will be eligible for CGA scholarships to attend the TAGT symposium this December in Dallas. Details are on the form.
Please sign up for this free membership so you will be the first to know about CGA's student, parent and educator enrichment opportunities. Memberships must be renewed each year, so even if you have signed up in the past, educators will need to fill out the form again to receive a free membership. After October 12, educator memberships will be $10.
Educators can reach the membership page here: https://coppellgifted.org/join/
Coppell Gifted Association Scholarships for TAGT
Please see the link below for the scholarship application from the CGA for TAGT. The Metroplex is hosting TAGT again this year and the CGA remains committed to providing our educators with the opportunity to attend. The conference is from November 30th – December 2nd. And while CGA will pay the registration costs for all educators who are awarded a scholarship, each campus is responsible for the subs for those educators.

Instructional Technology from Nancy Garvey
For your planning!!!
The Clarity survey is coming up in early October! This is the survey that our learners, educators and parents take to help us make informed decisions on the integration of technology. The survey window will open on Friday, October 7th and will close on Friday, October 28th. The educators (Pre K – 12) will complete the survey through Schoology so that we can track their completion. The learners at the elementary level (3rd – 5th grade) will complete the survey in the mode that works best for each campus. It is imperative that all learners and educators complete this survey because we are using the data to track the instructional technology program and all staff development offered by the Instructional Technology team. Data is presented to the school board each year and it is important that we hear the voice of all of our learners and educators (we don’t want skewed data).
