From the Middle EMS and ELA
News from the Principal, November 1, 2019
Hello Parents and Families,
I hope you enjoyed some downtime on Wednesday during the snow day. As nice as it was for our students and staff to have a little break, we were a bit bummed by the timing as it meant we couldn't hold our Trick-or-Treat Street, but...we have set a new date for the event. Please share the information with your neighbors.
We hope to see you at our Post-Halloween Celebration and bring your little goblins to Trick-or-Treat Street on Monday, November 4th.
Also, just a reminder that we do not have school on Friday, November 1st for Teacher Professional Development.
Also, please head over to Rubio's off Broadway and Mineral on Wednesday, November 6th for a fundraiser night to support both EMS and ELA.
Thank you for your support...as always, let us know if you have any questions or concerns.

STRIVING TOWARD EXCELLENCE
Over the course of the last 18 months, both EMS and ELA have been continuing efforts toward excellence. One of these steps is the clearly define our mission and values for our schools. You will notice that we use both the mission and values to develop a positive culture and climate for students and staff.
The mission of Englewood Middle School is to support each student in the transition from elementary to high school by cultivating the habits and skills that will ensure their success.
EMS Values are:
Achievement
Community
Respect
Engagement
Work Ethic
The mission of ELA is a community of curious, empowered learners who collaborate, serve, lead, and grow.
ELA Values are:
Achievement
Respect
Integrity
Synergy
Engagement
I will continue to share with you our improvement efforts over the course of this year--we are always looking for new and better ways to help our students learn and grow, and to support our teachers to be the best around.
