Needing Book Ideas?
Do You Have A Library Card?
You could set up your iPad as a reading/listening station for your students and let them choose between books you have checked out (see screenshot below of mine).
More Ideas:
- You could also use these books to create read alouds for your students. You could screen record your iPad while reading the book. Place the video into iMovie to save...turn into a QR code...and then share with your students.
- You could have students practice their fluency while reading these books also. Have them record themselves in their SeeSaw app while reading from your tablet.
- Get library applications from our local library to send home to encourage students to get a library card. Once they have one, lets get them the library app so they can check out their own digital books/audiobooks.
Spoons
Remember playing spoons as child and and how much fun you had? Why not bring that fun into the classroom? This is a game that can change in complexity and can be played in grades K-6. Below is the blog post where I learned about this idea and where you can read more. HERE is a link to my google drive folder that has the game board and directions already created for you in Keynote (all you have to do is print and glue in a file folder). There are also resources for cards at different levels.
