Cracker Trail Elementary Newsletter
November 2022
From the Principal
Dear Mustang Parents and Guardians,
We are off to a wonderful start for the 22/23 school year. I am very thankful for the effort our students, staff, and parents have put into the start of this school year. We appreciate everyone working together to start our school year off strong. Because of this teamwork our students, teachers, and staff members are moving at a good pace in the classrooms and on campus. Last month ended with a great community event - our Character Parade.
With over 300 visitors, the event ran smoothly thanks to the patience and flexibility of our parents, guardians, and caregivers as well as the entire CTE staff. The parade was a fitting end to Red Ribbon Week. It was great to see everyone participating in the activities throughout the event. Thank you to Mrs. Thomas for organizing everything. Our next event is the return of our on campus Veteran’s Day program. We look forward to celebrating and honoring our veterans.
As I wrote last month, our school earned a “B” grade for the 21/22 school year. Our 5th grade teachers and support staff led our students to some of the highest achieving marks in the district. Our 5th grade ELA (English Language Arts) percentage of students meeting proficiency was tied for
highest among elementary schools in our school district. The percentage was also above the state average. In math, CTE 5th graders had the HIGHEST percentage among district elementary schools of 5th grade students achieving proficiency. Our percentage was above the district average. 5th grade is the only grade level assessed by the state in science. Our 5th graders tied for 2nd highest in the district. What an impressive achievement on all fronts by our 5th graders and all who work with our students. Congratulations!!
On behalf of the CTE Staff, I would like to wish all our Mustang Families a wonderful Thanksgiving Break! I, as well as our team of educators, are extremely thankful for the opportunity to serve and lead our students.
Thanksgiving is a time for family and I hope that you and your family have an enjoyable holiday.
Sincerely,
Mr. Rick Kogelschatz -Principal
