#ChasingGreatness
Let's Keep It Up!
We have heard from a good many people the past few weeks about how a sense of synergy continues to build on campus. I am so fortunate to work alongside such amazing teachers, counseling staff, custodial staff, office staff, admin. team, and host of other support staff that bring it every day. While I know that can be exhausting, the teamwork on display each day is downright impressive and inspiring. As we continue to come together as a work family, please do not hesitate to let us know how we can continue to support each of you to make this school not only the best middle school for students, but the best middle school to call a work home, too. We are in this together!

Logoup.com Order - extended to Wednesday, October 9
Logoup.com is a website that I have used in the past that has allowed people to purchase some school swag of different sorts. We already have our school logo uploaded so there is no additional charge. It can be embroidered or pressed on items depending on the details of each. Some people in the past have gotten really nice polos, jackets, lunch boxes, sweaters, etc. The polos you have seen Courtney, Bill, and I wear came from them as well as the cardigans Courtney has been wearing. My office staff last year even got Nike Polos embroidered for $15 before. Only catch, you have to find exact colors and sizes for various products as not everything is fully stocked. Quality has always been very good.
So, if you would like to order, please reply to this email with the product number, color, size, and any other pertinent details (copying and pasting a picture of exact item is always helpful). I will close the orders on Wednesday, October 9. If you would like to order, please provide exact cash or a check written to me and I will use my personal credit card to order all the goods at once. The school is not purchasing these, this is an extra opportunity for personalized gear.
You can add an item(s) to a cart and see what tax would be added. We have a number of people purchasing items and I am trying to see about a free shipping code for us to use.
Fall Festival - 10th Anniversary Celebration - Saturday, November 2
Staff will earn Flex Time for participation. The proceeds will be used to support each grade levels field trips. Please be sure we have strong participation from each grade level. Encore, please plan on supporting, too, if you can - for every dollar that is saved via this money, it is one less that is taken out of school money that can go to others thing.
If you haven't done so yet, please let April know who your grade level rep on the planning committee will be.
Each grade level/encore has also agreed to put together a basket for the silent auction. If you have any questions, please see your grade level representative on the planning committee or April Wingler
Hometown Heroes Luncheon! Taken from Ms. Hammond's Email
Each Fall we invite our local Hometown Heroes (Police, Fire Department, and EMT) to join our students and staff for lunch at Hickory Ridge Middle. This has become a meaningful event for our Maverick Community! However, it has also become more of an undertaking than one person can handle.
This year the event will take place on Wednesday, October 23rd from 11:15 – 1:30 in the Media Center.
Please see this form for ways you can help with the event!
Staff Shout-Outs
Please remember to submit names and info. by each Thursday for the following week.
Shout-out to Mr. Shapcott and our Counseling Crew for supporting our MTSS meetings last week! Thanks to each of the teams for coming in prepared, sticking to the agenda, and for great conversation and suggestions related to how we can come together as a team and continue to meet the needs of our students.
Shout-out to Mr. Nicholls who presented for a local elementary school related to his growing up in Australia - I bet they had a lot of fun.
Please let me know if you would like to include any shout-outs.
