Why did the US enter the War?
There are 3 reasons why the US got involved
The Start..
The US had three most important reasons to enter the Great War. Lots of anger surfaced as things started happening that effected America. The start of it all was the sinking of the Lusitania. This angered the US because this ship contained 128 Americans that were killed.
Lusitania
This ship was sunk by a U Boat on May 7,1915. 1,200 passengers were killed, 128 of them being Americans.
U-Boat
This is a picture of a U-Boat. This was the type of boat which was used to sink the Lusitania.
Woodrow Wilson
This was the president during the Great War and he is the one who declared the start of the War.
Zimmerman Telgram
Germany sent this telegram to Mexico to encourage them to go to war with the United States.
