What's Your Good News Broadcast for This Week?
"Things turn out best for the people who make the best of the way things turn out." --John R. Wooden, Former Coach of UCLA, 10 National Championships
News of Note
Flexibility: With field trips and other events, coverage in the lunchroom at certain periods is not possible and sometimes requires classes to eat in the classroom. We appreciate your flexibility when this has happened, and know that isn't the best scenario. We also appreciate how positive you all have been when asked- your attitude is what makes Pleasant Union pleasant.
Appreciation: Please take time out to thank the "Administrative Professionals" in our office during the week of May 1st -5th. Ms. Person, Ms. Baginski, and Ms. Britt are integral to PUE in more ways that are possible to list. They were treated to Lunch off campus last week, however, what matters the most is hearing from you all and the students!
WCPSS Child Nutrition Services: May 1st -5th is School Nutrition Employee Week. Help us celebrate by letting them know how much they are appreciated. You can also nominate a cafeteria employee for "School Lunch Hero Day" on May 5th. This can be done through the WCPSS website.
Data Collection Form and End of Year PDPs: Please complete the Data Collection Form sent out in an email last week, and email to firstname.lastname@example.org if you have not done so. Continuing Teachers information is due Monday, May 1, 2017. If you have not completed your mid-year PDP, please do so as soon as possible. Teachers should now begin entering information for the end of year PDP so that during the end of year conference both the summary evaluation and the end of year PDP can be completed. If you have questions, please email Mr. Biles or Ms. Fricke.
DreamBox: Thanks to the many staff that have introduced and have actively used the program. Students appear to enjoy and will benefit from its use. The goal is to have each student use it 60 minutes per week and complete at least 5 activities. When you check your weekly usage you will notice that students in the green are reaching this goal. If the student is close but not meeting the goal the data will black and if the student is well below the usage goal there will be an orange triangle. Stephanie, our trainer will return for our May 11th staff meeting to follow up with how to read and use the data as well as to how to create assignments to address the data. If there are any difficulties please touch base first with your team and if a resolution cannot be had email me so that I can alert DreamBox Support.
