The Raptor Report
Mrs. Cooper's Tournament of Books
During the month of March, Mrs. Cooper's class participated in a March Madness Tournament of Books! Each day, Mrs. Cooper read aloud a book and then the class voted on their favorites. The class winner was Stick and Stone by Beth Ferry. Stick and Stone is a heartwarming picture book that proves once and for all why best friends ROCK!
Mrs. Bolko's Students and the Jellybeans
Mrs. Bolko's class had fun sorting, graphing, and eating jellybeans to celebrate the start of Spring Break! Elijah said, "Math is a lot of fun." He then then said, "Being in school is the best!"

Coatesville Area School District Summer Programs
Attention, Parents! We are in the process of preparing for summer academic programing for students in grades K - 12. CASD is also working with community partners like the YMCA, Young Men and Women In Charge , Coatesville Youth Initiative, and 21st Century Community Learning Centers to support activities for students in grades K-8 this summer. Students in grades 9-12 will also have the opportunity to make up credits they did not accumulate this year. Summer programs will run Monday through Thursday from the week of June 28th to the week of August 2nd. Please stay tuned for more information and invitations to our summer programs.
Young Men and Women in Charge (YMWIC)
Young Men and Women In Charge has been supporting Coatesville Area School District high school students for many years. YMWIC has provided CASD students with mentoring and career path options for post high school.
YMWIC has recognized the need to reach even younger students to help overcome the academic deficits that students have when they enter and proceed through school. These questions are intended to help us create a program that would meet the needs of families in the CASD community who have children in the Pre-Kindergarten to Grade 2 years. We greatly appreciate your assistance in helping us design a program that will bring even more educational opportunities for our youth.
