Mission

The mission of edtechu is to provide ongoing, relevant, and engaging opportunities for higher education faculty, staff, and students to share their ideas and grow their professional learning network.


Why edtechu?

University educators are rarely provided professional development opportunities where they share good practices, innovative ideas, and personal insights into teaching with technology. edtechu seeks to provide such an opportunity in a cost-effective, casual, and comfortable format through an informal meeting of higher education faculty, staff, and students. edtechu events are free for all.

Instructional strategies in higher education largely exists in isolation around specific disciplines. The edtechu planning team hopes to build a culture that shares new and innovative ideas for improving educational technology in higher education. By sharing our knowledge, skills and experience, we all become better educators.

No. edtechu is free to all attendees.


edtechu Aims

Agenda

  • 40-minute opening keynote
  • 10-minute logistical explanation approach
  • 20-minute concurrent sessions where faculty, staff, sponsors, and students share educational technologies or techniques
  • 60-minute networking lunch
  • 30-minute rapid fire closing session
  • 30-minute closing remarks/door prizes
  • Sponsor booths are available
  • attendees need to have each sponsor endorse a sponsor card in order to be entered into the door prize drawing
  • PractLab
  • open lab to allow participants to practice what they learn
  • Back-channel twitter feed (#edtechu2013) to allow non-attendees and attendees to participate
