2nd Quarter Reminders
AVID ComminiCare News ~
Hi Tigers!
AVID 10 class of 2023 students are working with CommuniCare to make a difference in our community and provide grants to selected non-profits. We are inviting nonprofits who help Refugees and Immigrants with legal advocacy, housing services, as well as, educational and career opportunities in Washington County and the Portland Metro Area. As a class, we have researched many nonprofits and found eight amazing organizations that fit our criteria and will be inviting them to apply this week. In December, we will start reviewing applications, interviewing, and then deciding on which nonprofits to donate to. This grantmaking process has opened our eyes to see there are many ways to help within our community. We are so excited to continue this process as we receive applications and begin the interviewing process in the next months. It means a lot to us that our hard work will impact people in need during these times! We would like to help to ensure they have an equal opportunity to succeed and live happily in America; we strive to provide a fair, welcoming, and equitable community for all immigrants and refugees!
