In Case You Missed It...
I'm elated to declare that as of July 27, we are "unofficially" FULLY STAFFED. We have a couple of names that must go to the Board meeting on August 8.
Melisa Rodriguez took a position at a high school in Wake County to be closer to home. Karen Caldwell has agreed to move up to teach 8th grade.
Drea Wright Thompson has transferred to Lee Early College where she will be monitoring a computer lab.
Gwen Quadri will be back to full time at West Lee Middle School this school year. Due to our decreasing numbers of students with Limited English Proficiency (LEP) and a decreased ESL budget, SLMS will not have a ESL teacher this year. We will have a full-time bilingual teacher assistant that will go into classrooms to provide supports for students in the general classroom. Due to the increased numbers of LEP students at Southern Lee HS Eurice Aragon will be a full time TA there.
Congratulations to Drew Lyerly and family. His wife Sara gave birth to their second baby boy last night. His name is Beau Hedrick Lylerly. He was 7 lbs 2 oz and 20 inches long :) Drew reports that everyone is doing well!
Congratulations to Bianca Di Marcello and her sweetheart Brian for their recent nuptials! They has a small gathering of friends and family to their farm and tied the knot on Saturday. :)
Alice McIver shared she will be having surgery right before school starts to remove the cancer in her thyroid. She goes next week for her preop appointment and will learn more about recovery. Please continue to keep her in your prayers.
