Tulsa Tech Student Speaker
Senior, Dakota Seawright, has always known he wants to be an electrician. When asked why, he answers, "Because I want to be a better electrician than my dad." If you know Dakota, you know that the answer fits his personality perfectly. Dakota is enrolled at Tulsa Tech in the Electrical Trades course at the Sand Springs campus. Earlier this week, he spoke to a group of area counselors and explained what he felt was important for students to know before enrolling in a Tulsa Tech course. Dakota's advice is not to underestimate the difficulty of Tech because it is fast-paced, hands-on, and attendance is crucial. He recommends Tech to interested students because it will teach you about your career of interest, job skills, and leadership skills. Dakota says, "Personally, Tech has helped me become more respectful, straightforward, a public speaker, and makes me try harder to raise my GPA for a future job."

October Canned Food Drive
Throughout the month of October, Collinsville High School’s National Honor Society will be sponsoring a school-wide canned food drive. The food drive will be a competition between classes (freshman, sophomore, etc.), with the highest-collecting grade earning “bragging rights” for helping their community the most! We are collecting canned items or boxed mixes, so please avoid perishable items such as potatoes. Food items can be dropped off in the flexible classroom area anytime throughout the school day. We look forward to helping our community through this canned food drive!
