Now (what has happened this week)

Welcome to our weekly newsletter!

Hello from Balladen School.

What a week of beautiful weather at school. It is difficult to believe that last Friday it was snowing and some schools were shut in Lancashire!

On Tuesday our incredible Year 2 children started their SATS. It was very calm throughout the day and the children had big smiles and were really trying their best. They have been working hard all week and have had lots of opportunities to play and relax. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Mrs Hopkins, Miss Boulton and Mrs Clayton for all of their work and support of the children and making the week so calm and relaxed. A big thank you to all of you wonderful parents and carers for making sure that the children have been here throughout the week. Thank you!

On Wednesday there was lots of learning happening around school and for the first time we could use the field at lunchtime. The children were having a wonderful time dancing on the stage and using all of the equipment to play.

On Thursday Vision came into school to share an assembly with us. We always enjoy their puppet shows. The Year 5 children were fortunate enough to have a handball session after playtime and after lunch the children in Year 4 and 6 had some catch up swimming time.

On Friday we had our celebration assembly. A big thank you to all of the the parents and carers who attend these assemblies. we know that it means a lot to the children. Our wonderful Year 1 children also visited a farm on Friday. I'm sure that there will be some pictures to look at very soon!

Next week is an important week for our Year 6 children. Please make sure that the children have lots of sleep during the weekend. We are really looking forward to them coming to school early on Monday morning for breakfast and them showing their incredible learning throughout the week.

Thank you for your continued support.

Have a fantastic weekend and we look forward to seeing you next week.
