Lions Park Paw Prints
Letter from the Principal
Dear Lions Park Families,
This has been such a strange week of weather with snow flurries to kick off the week and forecasted highs in the mid 70s for the weekend. It can be hard to know how to have your child dress for school. Please know that we do go outside any day it is not pouring rain and that the windchill/"feels like" temperature is sixteen degrees or above. It may help to have your child dress in layers on days when it starts out cool and warms up. I know some kids don't seem to feel the cold, but others are outside asking how much longer until we go in because they are cold.
October is Pedestrian Safety Month. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, 6,516 pedestrians were killed and an estimated 55,000 pedestrians were injured nationwide in 2020. Their Pedestrian Safety page shares safety tips and links to resources, including resources for kids and teens. Please help ensure the safety of our students by following the posted signs around the school and being patient at pick up and drop off times. I know everyone is busy and rushing to get from place to place, but we want all of our students to arrive and depart school safely.
We are excited to celebrate Halloween at Lions Park on October 31st. If you plan to bring your child home for lunch on Halloween, please fill out this form by Friday, October 28th.
Last week, I sent an email about signing up for parent and teacher conferences on November 1st, 7th or 17th. Please go to the Online Conference Sign Up Link to select your time. Most conferences will be in person, but we will have Zoom conferences available at select times on the afternoon of November 1st.
As always, don't hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns.
Warmly,
Katie Kelly
