Message from Geordie

Afternoon Parents and Families,

It has been an awesome day here at St Bernie’s with our Year 6 students entertaining us with their Graduation Assembly followed by an exciting Transition Day. Our Year 6 students looked like they had an absolute blast up on stage and the upbeat music and jokes made it a last assembly to remember. I am so proud of our graduating class, and I thank all the parents, staff and community for helping to make them the amazing kids they are today!

I would like to take this opportunity to welcome all our new families to the school for 2022 and it was great to see many of these new students here today. Our goal was to get our students excited for the year ahead, meet their teachers and classmates and sneak in a little pre-testing too. A HUGE thanks to the parents for preparing their students for today, they came to school with a positive mindset, and this will help set them up for success!

On Wednesday we hosted our 2021 AGM for the School Advisory Council and the P&F. This was another opportunity to celebrate the successes of the year and thank our community for their contribution to such a great year. On Wednesday I introduced the new Strategic Plan and I have attached a digital copy for people to have a read.

With one more week to go for our students there is still a lot to do. On Monday we will host the Year 6 Graduation Mass and Party and we look forward to seeing you all at the Christmas Concert on Tuesday night. Our last event for the year will be on Wednesday with the Year 6 Big Day Out and the K-5 students having a fun day here at school.

Have an awesome weekend, enjoy the sunshine and if anyone has some tips on how to catch a crayfish – I would love to hear it!! (I have a boat and pots but no skill or expertise).

Student Ministries

Year 5 students also submitted letters outlining why they would like to lead one of the Student Ministries in 2022, what an excellent read they were, making the decisions very difficult when choosing who would lead each of the ministries.

Congratulations to the following students:

Semester 2 Reports

We are coming towards the end of the year, and we all know that means reports! As with last semester, please make sure you can log into Seqta Engage. If you can not remember your log in or password, please email and your log in details will be returned to you.

Once you have logged into Seqta, on the left-hand side (on a handheld device, you will need to select the blue button with three white lines in the top left hand corner) click Assessment, choose which child you would like to view (if you have more than one child on Engage). You will then see that you have access to all previous reports.

Once again, there should be no surprises with your student’s report grades as teacher and parent communication should be open and ongoing. If there are any concerns, please contact your child’s teacher via

Attached you will find the visual that I shared last semester that assists in explaining what each grade represents and an attendance visual that demonstrates how important regular attendance has on learning. Your child’s report will go live on Seqta Engage at 3:30pm on Thursday 9th December.

If you have any further questions or questions, please don’t hessite to contact me.
