APRIL 20, 2020
Dear Pleasant View Families,
Thank you for everything you’ve done to support your learners the past couple of weeks as we’ve moved to online learning in grades 3, 4, and 5. We’re looking forward to having grades 5K, 1, and 2 join later this week!
Moving forward, the Daily Learning Plans document will phase out as will the daily attendance form. This week will be the last that this document comes to you daily for those in grades K-5. We will also shift back to using this Pleasant View Weekly Bulletin, which was on pause for a short time, to communicate school-wide information. Please look for it in your email boxes weekly on Mondays from April 20th through the end of the year. Lessons will be communicated directly through Google Classroom accounts for students (4K activities will be emailed to families daily starting on April 24th). Finally, be sure to check the district family newsletter for any additional information you might need.
Governor Evers’ announcement last week that schools will remain closed through the end of this year brings some closure to the unknown we have had the past month, but also raises questions of what is coming next. As we continue growing in our development of online learning, the PV staff and district are committed to supporting and keeping you informed as much as we can. Please make sure to reach out if you have questions, concerns, or feedback so that we can support your child and you as much as possible. We love and appreciate each of you and remain here for you, even though it looks a little different. We are all in this together!
As we keep our school spirit alive and well in your homes, please consider participating in our upcoming spirit days this week listed below:
Tuesday, April 21 - Sports/Game Day (Get Active)
Thursday, April 23 - Book/Literacy Day - Post a picture with your favorite/book you’re currently reading
If you have any photos from this week from our spirit days, feel free to share any pictures of your child(ren) taking part in them to ann.devereaux@franklin.k12.wi.us. We will continue to compile those pictures and put them in a folder so that you can access those pictures HERE.
Stay Safe and Healthy,
Mr. Foeckler

A new folder has been added titled Virtual/Distance Learning where students can see their classmates in their distance learning environments. Please click here for all photos from this current school year
Event Cancellations
There have been many cancellations of school and district events since we had to close school because of the COVID19 pandemic.
Unfortunately, we will be canceling all music concerts and events that fall in the 2019-2020 calendar. It is sad to think our musicians will not be able to perform for their families, teachers, friends, and the Franklin community.
Thank you for understanding and keeping your instruction of student learning at the forefront during this unique time.

Summer Learning Program on Hold
Due to school closures, all Summer Learning Program (i.e. Summer School) information is currently on hold. It is our hope to run a summer school program for our students.
The District will communicate to families at a later date about the status of our Summer Learning Programs as more guidance from Governor Evers and the CDC inform when children and adults can gather back in normal settings. We will continue to update the Summer School Program page for families, and will communicate with all staff as decisions are made about all of our Summer Learning Programs.
Catch Up on District News
Please be sure to read the newest District Newsletter that comes out now every Friday. You can access all the issues here. If you know of any children in Franklin ages 2-18, there is a weekly signup form to pick up food while schools are closed.
