Looking Ahead

Keith Schologan Coming to PPCS

Former Saskatchewan Roughrider, Keith Schologan will be visiting PPCS to speak to our students on Thursday Jan 30 at 9:00am. The topics he will cover are leadership, bullying and positive choices.

PPCS Final Exam Schedule

NESD policy does not allow for a traditional exam week. If students in grade 10-12 have an exam in the AM, they will have regular classes in the PM and vice versa. Students must attend the day of their final exam unless previous arrangements have been made with the teacher and administration.

ELA Departmental

Grade 12 students will be writing an ELA departmental on Jan 27 at 9:00 am. Students must arrive about 10 minutes early (8:45) or may not be allowed into the exam room. Students who do not write on Jan 27, will have to write on the alternate date in March.
Please note the change to the finals schedule. The Phys Sci 20 final has been moved to Jan 28 and the WAM 10 final has been moved to the afternoon. This will allow all students to tke part in the assembly with Keith Schologan from the SK Roughriders.

Info You Will Need

Speech and Language Services for Kids Aged 0-4

Tracie Hancock is the Speech and Language Pathologist that has been assigned to Porcupine Plain and makes regular visits here to meet with families and children aged 0-4.

If families have any concerns or just want to make sure that their child (0-4) is progressing in terms of language and speech development they are strongly encouraged to contact Tracie and set up an appointment.

The services are free of charge and can go a long way to ensuring that students have a high degree of readiness when they enter Kindergarten at PPCS. PPCS and the NESD will continue, as always to provide speech support for students in our school. However, we know that early intervention (specifically in those 0-4 years range) is critical to ensuring the future success of students within the school system.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at the school 278 2288 or contact Tracie directly to discuss your child or to set up an appointment 306 752 1754.

Tracie's days in Porcupine Plain are as follows:

Dec 6, Dec 20, Jan 10, Jan 24, Feb 7, Feb 28, March 13, and March 27.

The future availability of Tracie in our community will be somewhat based on usage, so please make use of this amazing resource to ensure that all of our students are ready for school and have a very successful school career.

Speed Limit Reminder

Just a gentle reminder that the speed limit in the school zone is 30km per hour. Thank you to the students and family who are respecting this and reminder to those who are not. We want to ensure that the school zone is a safe place for all students coming and going from PPCS. If you notice inappropriate driving and wish to report it, please contact the RCMP directly as they will not take a second-hand complaint.
