  • With the increasing population and an ever expanding British empire, there was a huge market for cotton. Also textile play a vital role in meeting man's needs.
Textile was used to create employment, business and income to the country through export.

Economic: The textile industry created employment and resulted to urbanization.

Political: Improved living conditions because it provided clothing, food and jobs to the working class.

Social: Textile industry introduced cultural blending because businessman traveled around the world selling or buying goods and products.

Economic: Due to rural to urban immigration, wealth increased within cities around the world.

Political: Job availability also resulted to population boom in urban areas around the world.
