Spotlight on Student Voice
Greetings ANWSD families!
We have been busy here at VUHS spotlighting students and their voices! On Wednesday, we had our first annual Mental Health Matters event. With roughly 50 families participating, we dug into vulnerable conversations around support students with anxiety, support BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ students, how to navigate online safety with a young one, and so much more! After the event, we sent folx a survey to fill out responding to the following questions:
What are your most important takeaways after participating in these workshops?
What other areas could we provide workshops to support students and families moving forward?
Check out what our families are thinking about below!!
Additionally, VUHS has their upcoming Early Release Day on Wednesday, February 2nd. We will begin the day with our first ever virtual assembly!!! Get ready to tune in to some Jazz music, special guests, and a very special magic trick. Please support our work by sending your students to school, and reflecting with them on how the day went. Our intention is to build a stronger school community that holds each other on our best days and our worst days. Go commodores!
We will be hosting a booster clinic for students 12-18yo. This will take place Tuesday, February 1st, in the MS gym from 10-2pm. Registration for this clinic will open on Monday, January 24th. Students must be registered ahead of time.
If you used the Health Department website to get your first and second dose, you can make your appointment online. If you did not use the system for your initial doses, you can call 855-722-7878 to set up your appointment.
