Helvetia Fair
The Helvetia Community Fair celebrates the rich culture and history of Helvetia, WV, a small Swiss community located in Randolph County. The Helvetia Community Fair encourages local families, friends, and visitors to celebrate their harvest and their heritage.
When volunteering for the event you can have the potential to work in a kitchen making food for guests, making signs, or decorating floats. There is the potential that volunteers could also be asked to judge the fair, run a bounce house, or watch over the local community museum. Beyond these potential tasks you will also have plenty of time to explore and experience the fair for yourself!
To volunteer at the Helvetia Fair, please contact Jackson Carey (carey_jd@wvwc.edu), Dylan Ringer (ringer_dj@wvwc.edu), Faith Johnson (johnson_fm@wvwc.edu), or Mason Winkie (winkie_mp@wvwc.edu).
Literacy Volunteers - Book Sorting
Wednesday, September 14th from 6 - 8PM and Friday, September 16th from 3-6 PM
The mission of Literacy Volunteers of Upshur County (LV-UC) is to foster and promote literacy and life skills among adults in Upshur County and the surrounding counties who have low-level reading and math skills. LV-UC in a nonprofit organization that relies on fundraising activities as an important source of funding. Book Sales are held twice a year and are the organization’s largest fundraising events. Book sorting in our storage facility in advance of the sale allows us to separate books according to specific categories, and ensure the quality of the books to be included in the sale. We know from experience that well organized, quality books translate to a successful fundraiser. By participating in our Book Sorting Party you will directly help support the success of this fundraiser.
To volunteer please contact Emily Stasny (stasny_ea@wvwc.edu) or Kendra Sullivan (lvaupco@wirefire.net).

If anyone would like to donate peanut butter, they can bring it to the Center for Community Engagement & Leadership Development located behind the Bobcat Den on the 2nd floor of the Benedum Campus Center.
