Principal's Message
Dear Wildcats,
What a great learning week we had last week to start up the new year! I was so impressed watching all of you in action ensuring the following was happening:
- Goals and Objectives being aligned to state and district standards.
- Analysis of student data connected to specific instructional strategies.
- Adjustments to address strengths and gaps in background knowledge, life experiences and skills of all students.
- Sets academic expectations that challenge all students (rigor).
Next steps and look fors during school instructional rounds:
- Instructional groups based on the needs of all students.
- All students understanding their individual roles within instructional groups.
- Activities, resources, technology and instructional materials that are all aligned to instructional purposes.
Along with those lines we are also going to be looking for these:
- All procedures, routines and transitions are clear and efficient.
- Students actively participate in groups, manage supplies and equipment with very limited teacher direction. Most students meet expected classroom behavior standards.
- The classroom is safe and organized to support learning objectives and is accessible to most students.
If you weren't visited this past week, please know someone will be coming to ensure you receive feedback!
May you enjoy this beautiful week with love, learning, and joy for sharing the light you were gifted.
Wildcat Love and respect,
Rachel Martinez

January is National Mentoring Month! Schools with mentoring programs are asked to show appreciation to mentors on their campuses. A few ways to show appreciation include, but are not limited to, display statements of appreciation for mentors on marquees, put up posters created by students with appreciation statements, have students write notes of appreciation, etc.
What are ways you will encourage your children to show appreciation for their mentors? Connect with Demetra Rushing to help you ensure all your students being mentored are honored this month.
