Wiggin Street Parent Update

BETTER TOGETHER

Dear Wiggin Street Families,

This update is full of pictures and videos from all of the exciting events that happened this week! 4th grade had Ag Day, and we had our Talent Show on Tuesday, Mr. Bruce Hawkins visited 3rd grade yesterday, and 5th grade made pillowcases for Ryan's Cases for Smiles today.

We look forward to camp at Heartland for our 5th graders next Monday, 3rd Grade Mount Vernon History field trip on Wednesday, and our End of the Year School Picnic on Friday.

Lastly, we thank Friends of Wiggin Street for organizing an amazing Teacher Appreciation Week and all that helped to make this week extra special. Our teachers were pampered with breakfast, cards, flowers, 20 minute chair massages, and lunch. We loved all of the thank you cards students made during lunch and the flowers they purchased to deliver themselves. Best of all were the hugs and the many thanks!

Middle School Music Opportunities

Trevor Garrabrant, the middle school and high school choir director, will do a combined lesson with our 5th graders on May 16th during school. The goal is to have the students preview a choral lesson and get to know Mr. Garrabrant, so this will help kids make a decision about participating in performance ensembles at the middle school next year.

Ryan's Case for Smiles

Our 5th grade students had the opportunity to make pillow cases for kids with cancer that will be taken to hospitals. Thank you to Terri Lewis and her mother for bringing in fabric, sewing machines, and sergers for students to use. They even learned to iron!
