"I just like to smile. Smiling's my favorite!"
~ Buddy the Elf
With Appreciation:
- Bravo Pam Cook - thank you for your work with the morning greeters and for the extra special celebration you coordinated with the 1st grade team to honor the kiddos!
- Way to go Special Education Team - they are rockin and rollin on IEPs this month - we have many initial, annual and tri's in the coming months - keep it up!
- Two thumbs up for our CICO Faciliators (Pam, Tricia, Karen, Vickie, Michelle, Irma and Darren) - we appreciate the effort you are putting in to develop positive relationships with children on campus! Thank you!
- Sunshine Committee - thanks for coordinating our Staff Holiday Social!
Campus Gates
If you come/leave the campus through a gate, please be sure to lock it behind you (both before and after school and especially during the day) in order to support the safety of our staff and students. Not only is a locked gate a first deterrent for folks we don't want on campus, we also have a couple of children on campus who may be likely to run, and an open gate makes it too easy for them.
Remind students that they are to leave through the front gates to meet their ride. We've had kids try to jump the fence to meet rides in that parking lot...but it's unsupervised.
PE Excusal Policy
PE is a mandated subject taught in all CA schools. We have a legal obligation to provide 200 minutes every 10 days (100 min/week) of physical exercise or physical education (sun safety, nutrition, activity skills/strategy/rules, etc...) for all students in grades 1-5. Should your child need to miss PE for a health or other reason, we can accept a note from the parent for up to 5 days of PE. After the 5th day of a parent's note requesting excusal from PE, a doctor's note will be required. If a child is consistently missing PE, a conference may be held in order to establish a plan to help the child participate in PE.
