Hello, Maplewood Families!
We are beginning to think about our upcoming June Summer School learning time with our Maple Leafs! This Summer, Topping Elementary School will be joining us at Maplewood for Summer School.
Summer School is all four weeks of June from Monday through Thursday, with the exception of the third week of June. The week of June 17th, we will have in person learning on Monday, Tuesday & Thursday & virtual learning on Friday. This is to ensure that we are honoring Juneteenth on Wednesday.
Our school day starts at 8:45am and ends at 2:45pm. The doors will open at 8:25am.
Summer Adventure Club is available for before and after school care. If you have questions about this, please contact the Adventure Club main office.
To enroll your student in Summer School, please login to your parent portal in PowerSchool and click “NKCSD Summer Enroll”. This is where you will choose your students transportation for the summer. There will be more information and specifics about this in the parent gazette.
We look forward to having your learner join us for Summer School!

Attendance Message
Attention 5th Grade Families!
Hello future Eastgate families!
As March approaches, your students are going to be learning more about their future school, Eastgate 6th Grade Center. My name is Jessica, and I am the principal at Eastgate. I cannot wait to meet you and your students! Your student’s elementary counselor alongside our 6thgrade center counselors will be working with your students to select class choices for the 2024-2025 school year. We will be mailing a postcard home soon, with a link to information about the upcoming school year. The link to this information is also included here. Information includes: important enrollment dates, frequently asked questions, a flyer that explains class choices available for students next year, the 2024-2025 academic calendar, and information about band. As more information becomes available, we will add it to the drive linked above. We look forward to getting to know you in the coming months!
Sincerely,
Dr. Jessica Nolin
Principal, Eastgate 6th Grade Center
Hello Families,
It has come to our attention that the QR Code is not working correctly for the 6th grade enrollment. If you need to make any changes to your student’s encore class selection please use this link ENROLLMENT FORM FOR STUDENTS TO COMPLETE to complete the form. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact Ms. McCoy, our school counselor.
Maplewood Safety and Privacy Protocol Update
Our Maplewood office staff has updated our safety protocol. All visitors and parents coming to Maplewood will be asked through the bell intercom how they can be helped. Then all visitors will need to checkin at the front office.
ALL visitors will be asked to checkin at the front office. If any parent needs to speak with Nurse Ellen, the front office staff will call to ensure that there are no students being treated, before they can go in and speak to her. This is to ensure all students privacy.
A Note from Nurse Ellen & our CARE Team!
-I wanted to bring something to your attention since we are headed for warmer weather. I have noticed many kiddos wearing crocs, sandals, and open-toed shoes resulting in injuries in PE and recess. If your student wants to wear these shoes, please encourage them to bring sneakers for PE and recess. No one wants an injured ankle or foot! Thanks for your attention on this matter!!!
-I’m sure you all are doing some spring cleaning! Feel free to drop off some gently used pants, sizes 5-6, 7-8, or 9-10. The Health Room is running very low! Thanks so much!!!
