Welcome to Third Grade!
September 2022
Hello Third Grade Families!
Upcoming Dates to Remember:
Monday, Sept. 26- No School
Wednesday, Sept. 28- School Picture Day
Wednesday, Sept. 28- JAWC Field trip!
Thursday, Sept. 29- Progress Reports
A big thank you to those of you who sent in the fieldtrip permission forms and the yellow payment plan paper last week. We think that giving clear cut options to pay for field trips this year will help with planning and getting things taken care of early so the rest of the year will be easier! If you haven't gotten the chance to send those papers in yet, please do so ASAP. Our field trip is on Wednesday and we must have a signed form for your child to attend.
Picture Day is also taking place on Wednesday. Our whole class will have their pictures made on Wednesday morning. These are the pictures that will go in the yearbook, so even if you don't want to purchase pictures, your child will still have their photo taken.
On Friday we will celebrate August and September birthdays! There are a couple of spots sill open if you want to sign up to send something in for the party. I can't wait to celebrate all of these birthdays! You can use the link below to check the sign up.

Helpful Daily Reminders:
* Please send one healthy snack and a water bottle each day. Students are allowed to eat their snack whenever they feel hungry.
* We play outside every day, weather permitting. For that reason, sneakers are always the best shoe choice for school.
* We like to keep the air in the classroom cool and moving, so you might want to send a jacket to school each day!
* Be sure to check your child's green folder each night for homework and to check for any notes or papers that have been sent home.
Skip Counting Homework Help
Need a little help with skip counting? We will be skip counting by 3s this week and 4s next week. Here are some great songs the wonderful Mrs. Wingler left us with!

Remember...
A homework calendar can be found in your student's green folder they will bring home each day. Please sign the paper to let me know that homework was completed. Reading for 20 minutes (or more!) is so important for our growing readers. After we complete all of our beginning of the year assessments, I can help guide you and your third grader to the level of books that they will benefit most from reading. Reading at home can be anything he/she finds enjoyable! Our nightly skip counting routine is a quick way you can support your students multiplication facts.
If you need help with school supplies, please let me know!
