- Add a Virtual Classroom Session Link to a Module
- Sharing your desktop, use the drawing tools, initiate a poll, and chat with participants.
New Features Available in Daylight (new interface) - 10:30 AM – 11:30 AM
Daylight is OAKS' new interface. In addition to a new clean look it also brings a few new features. In this session, we will explore:
- how to find your courses
- how to pin courses on your OAKS Home
- how to customize the banner of your OAKS course
- how OAKS looks on a mobile device
Getting Started with News & Content - 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM
The OAKS News tool allows faculty to send out updates, reminders, and important notices to students. Once news announcements are posted, they will appear on the first page of your course homepage for student viewing.
The OAKS Content tool allows you to build and organize your course content. This is the area where your students will access course materials including your syllabus, readings, videos, and slide decks.
During this session, we’ll provide a general overview of both of these tools. By the end of the session, you will be able to create news items for your course and add and organize course content including documents, links, audio, and video files.
Getting Started with Discussions - 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM
The OAKS Discussions tool allows you and your students to engage in online threaded discussions.
In this session, for BEGINNERS, we will explore the latest updates to the Discussions tool (Version 10.7), as well as how to:
- create a discussion forum, topic, thread, and post.
- manage discussions.
- track and grade student discussion posts.
Using the Assignments (Dropbox) Tool for Student Assignments - 3:00 PM – 4:00 PM
The OAKS Dropbox Tool is now called Assignments, and it allows you to set up folders so that your students can submit projects, assignments and other documents electronically. This eliminates the need to collect assignments and helps you track when the assignments were submitted. Once assignments are submitted, you can check submission times, grade assignments and leave feedback all within the dropbox tool.
In this hands-on session, you will learn how to create and manage assignments, grade and provide feedback. New features with the upgraded version of OAKS (10.7) will also be discussed
