I am excited to inform you that the Board of Directors narrowed the Director candidate pool to two at the Special Board meeting on Monday. I was pleased to see some of you attend the first round interviews. The finalists will be on campus next Wednesday, June 1st and Thursday, June 2nd. You are afforded the opportunity to participate in a question and answer session with the finalists each day at 5:00pm. The session will be an informal hour-long Q & A period. At 7:00pm on those evenings the candidates will participate in a second round interview that the public may attend. Both the Q & A sessions and the interviews will take place in the media center. Your feedback will be collected in written form.

Wednesday, the 1st: Julian Petzold
Thursday, the 2nd: Derrick Bushon

We hope you join us in determining the next leader of Holly Academy! Dare to be remarkable!

Holiday Fun

Have a lovely holiday weekend, Huskies! As the unofficial start of summer, Memorial Day is always a great time to celebrate with family and friends. Enjoy!

Texas Tragedy

Our HA community mourns for the lives lost at Robb Elementary School where the unimaginable happened on Tuesday. Please be assured that the safety and security of our Huskies is our utmost priority.

Spring Testing is OVER!! A huge shout out to the students for making it through. Thank you to the staff for all of their hard work and dedication to ensure academic achievement and growth occurred for our students. This lengthy process couldn’t have been possible without working together as Huskies do!

Spring Concerts have concluded. As you know, this was another of my many ‘firsts’ here at HA. I had only heard how special these were and often a favorite event for our staff and families. This couldn’t have been more true - what an amazing experience! Thank you to Mr. Dufresne and Mrs. Sprague for another wonderful season; thank you to the students for their hard work and commitment to their music; and thank you to the families who joined us in our celebration of our students. Should you want to further support this amazing program, please consider purchasing a DVD of the concerts and/or donating towards new seats in our auditorium. Further information follows.

Global Market Day was an amazing success! As you recall, fourth grade students created a mini society in their social studies classes with the goal of producing a final product to ‘sell.’ On Wednesday, May 25th, staff, students, and parents were able to participate in this event which was nothing short of smiles! It was wonderful to see us all enjoying time celebrating our students. Thank you to everyone who participated, especially to the fourth grade teachers for their hard work in educating our students for this day, and the students for their commitment to creating such marketable products!

Enjoy your well deserved long weekend, Huskies!

Camp Invention

The National Inventors Hall of Fame created Camp Invention to inspire future creators and entrepreneurs in a semi-structured environment that provides open-ended STEM activities.

Holly Academy’s camp will happen from 8/8 - 8/12/22.

This year students will explore:

  • Marble Arcade: Children zigzag through physics, engineering, and gaming as they build a mega marble arcade!
  • Spin Into the ATTIC: Art and STEM combine in this immersive experience with their robotic artist!
  • Robotic Aquatics: Children dive into ocean research and adopt their own aquatic animal!
  • Spacecation: Inspired by real space exploration, campers create Spacepacks and Astro-Arm devices to help them with glow-in-the-dark lunar discoveries and erupting ice volcanoes!
