PISD Calendar Proposal

Accountability Rating
For 2017-18, the 85th Legislature passed HB 22 establishing a new accountability system based on Three Domains.
- The district will receive a rating of A, B, C, D, or F for overall performance, as well as for performance in each domain, beginning in August 2018.
- Campuses will receive Met/Not Met Ratings for 2018, based on the Three Domains.
- Campuses will receive A–F ratings beginning in August 2019.
Overnight Trips and Sponsors
Prior to overnight trips, please remind your administrative teams and sponsors that the criminal history much be checked on all chaperones. The sponsors must verify this information prior to the trip. Please ensure this is taking place at your campus.
Additionally, please confirm the appropriate ratio is followed for overnight trips where there is at least one adult sponsor accompanying every 12 students.

Teachers as Tutors
Please remind your staff of the following information outlined in DBD Regulation:
· A teacher may not privately tutor his/her own students for pay, and he/she may not use the school facilities for that purpose.
· District resources and materials may not be utilized for private tutoring.
· A tutor is not allowed to request assignments or any other information from the student’s teacher without written parent consent. The policy recommends that the information be shared directly with the parents, who can communicate that information to the tutor.
