Our Sunday Newsletter
Each week we send out a newsletter to our families, students, staff, and community. We LOVE to celebrate anything and everything BG! We need your help to get that information. You can click on the QRC below, or email us at BG Sunday Newsletter.

Schedule Changes
We are still balancing our master schedule. We continue to get an increase in our enrollment, and this has allowed us to add courses, hire teachers, and get students into classes they may not have been able to get into.
With that, we are asking for some patience. Through this week there may be continued shifting in student's schedules. We understand that this is not ideal, and we are doing everything we can to limit the impact on the overall schedule.
Lastly, we still have some students that are coming to the main office to change their teacher, lunch, etc. We are not allowing those types of changes to occur. The only reasons we will consider is if your student is missing a class period, in a class they already passed, or they believe there is a graduation requirement mistake.
Please feel free to email me, Sooks (9th grade principal and master schedule), with any of your questions.
Thanks!

Welcome Mr. McKenzie, our new Dean of Students!
Hello Battle Ground Families,
My name is Jamal McKenzie. I am the Dean of Students at Battle Ground High School. I am
excited to begin the school year and join the Tiger family. My belief is that ALL students deserve
to have a great high school experience. It is my goal to build relationships and provide an
environment where ALL students will thrive.
It is my vision that our staff, parents, and community come together to support our students and
help them meet the expectations of the Battle Ground School District. We all need to encourage
positive behavior, good communication, and exceptional work ethic. This will help build
character and leadership that our students will take with them beyond high school.
I am humbled and honored to be given the opportunity to work with your students. It is my
intention that the statement above gives you a glimpse of where we are heading, and what we
can accomplish.
With Gratitude,
Jamal McKenzie

New Guidance for Athletic Events at the District Stadium
There is a new district-wide rule to provide a safer, more enjoyable environment for our students and families during events at District Stadium. Beginning Friday, Sept. 1, any primary or middle student attending athletic events at District Stadium must be accompanied by an adult age 18 or older who will be responsible for the student(s) for the duration of the event. The adult cannot be a high school student. Primary and middle school students will not be allowed to enter if they are not accompanied by an adult.
In addition, only clear bags are allowed into District Stadium. Students will need to leave all backpacks and bags that are not clear at home. The school district will not be responsible for any student bags that are lost, stolen, or not allowed in the stadium.
Thank you for your understanding and support as we work to ensure that all students and spectators are able to enjoy BGPS events.
