We. Did. It.
Sidewalk chalk art courtesy of Ms. Wolfsohn and Ms. Fennimore. What a great way to pump their students up each day as they walked in.
Johnny (who has struggled in math all year) Earned a 94 on his most recent math test.
Alicia (who won't be getting the citizenship trophy) has been a model student all year. She is an amazing role model for her peers and helps other students when they are in need.
Let's give it a try. I'll make a big deal, act like I'm taking them out to speak to them about something serious, and then share the great news.
Instruction in Action
Ms. Freeman took over the Mountain Lab and turned it into her ideal book club hang out. One group of students were actively reading Esperanza Rising while the rest of the class held a roundtable discussion on Bud, Not Buddy. What a great use of the innovator lab!
Ms. Ivory's class was working on solving fraction operations in word problems to help prepare for the DA's in just a few weeks. All of Ms. Ivory's students were engaged and wanting to share their strategy on how they solved the problem. It was like Number Talks on steroids!
Ms. Wolfsohn's students were reviewing for social studies by doing a gallery walk related to important concepts found on the upcoming SS DA.
