Month of the Military Child Celebrations
Month of the Military Child was created by the U.S. Department of Defense in 1986 to recognize and honor the hardships and sacrifices of children of military families. The month is observed every April across the United States and overseas, and purple is the color used to observe the month.
Greenbrier School District will observe Purple Up! Day on April 22, 2022. School faculty, staff, and students are encouraged to wear purple on that day to demonstrate support for the children of military families
April is the Month of the Military Child! We are going to be participating with other schools in the district in the service project "My First Duffel Bag". You can read more about it below! If you would like to participate, please send any of the following items in the month of April!
PURPOSE: To send newly enlisted Arkansas Army National Guard Soldiers to basic training with a duffel bag full of essential personal items.
MISSION: My first duffel bag hopes to provide one duffel bag full of the essential items that a new recruit needs for the first week of Army basic training. Most new recruits are either still in high school or under the age of 20. Many do not have the financial means to purchase a bag or the items to get them through the reception process of basic training.
VISION: With the help of the community by assisting with collecting donation items or monetary donations, I wish to serve those who serve us. All donations will be put together and delivered to the Recruiting and Retention Battalion at Camp Joseph T. Robinson. A list of essential start-up items is listed on the “My First Duffel Bag” flyer.
ACKNOWLEDGED: Thank you for your support of “My First Duffel Bag” and the new Soldiers of the Arkansas Army National Guard.

Happy K-3rd Grade Testing WEEK!!
I am so excited for our students to show how much they have grown this year. Each of them has worked so hard this year! We could not be more proud of them. We talked a lot about perseverance and what that looks like during testing time. If you see your kiddo is a little nervous, remind them of the llama video Mrs. Page showed them in class. It will give them a laugh!
If you have any questions or need anything, please do not hesitate to contact her. pagec@greenbrierschools.org or 501-679-1029 ext 3.
