UMAC News- October 2
Dear UMAC Parents,
In preparation for parent/teacher conferences this month, I will be sending a “conference planning form” for you to complete prior to our conference. This form helps me accurately prepare for our meeting. I’m are truly looking forward to conferences and can’t wait to share all of the wonderful things your child is doing in UMAC. Please look for an email with the Google form on Monday. I thank you in advance for your time.
This week your child brought home a monthly reflection journal. This included a letter to you describing a specific concept we have learned in UMAC during the month. We would like you to participate in this activity by reading your student’s letter and writing a letter back in the journal. In your letter, respond to what your student wrote and include things you remember learning when you were in school. This will serve as a reflective writing experience for both you and your child while being a great keepsake at the end of the school year.
Once you have completed your entry, please send the journal back to school. We will continue this activity once a month for the duration of the school year.
Thanks for your continued support!
Have a great weekend,
Michelle Barrett

Google Classroom
In spelling, our students had the opportunity to use Google Classroom to carefully complete spelling assignments and begin typing their Native American Narrative. This is another technology tool allowing our students to complete their assignments using a different format. We would recommend that our learners continue to practice keyboarding skills at home. It will be beneficial as we continue to use the computers to draft and complete many writing assignments in the future.
Here is an website that our students can create a free account if you are interested to practice their keyboarding skills.
