Attea Flyers
School Newsletter for Parents
For the week of April 19
Hello, Attea families.
With over 600 students back in person on a daily basis, there is an energy and enthusiasm throughout the school that we can see even with all of our students wearing masks. Students have been helpful and cooperate "safety citizens" in school, adhering to the safety protocols. As exuberant young adult, however, we've seen a little boundary-pushing lately (masks taken off or worn improperly, wanting to move closer than the 6-foot distancing during lunches, for example), so it would be helpful for parents to review and emphasize the expectations and safety guidelines that we reviewed with students at the start of Adapted In Person: Adapted In Person Expectations. We want everyone to stay safe and healthy, and it is a team effort to make that happen.
Have a wonderful weekend.

Have a safe and happy weekend.

Next SP/AT PTA Meeting
The next middle school PTA meeting is on Tuesday, April 20 at 7:00pm. The meeting will be held virtually, and the PTA will share a link to the meeting directly with parents. All are welcome. If you haven’t had the opportunity to connect with the PTA and would like more information about how to join, more information can be found at PTA's website.
Principal Chat - April 21 @ 2pm
“Principal Chats” are intended to give parents an opportunity to ask questions and/or share feedback about the school. There is no agenda, just an opportunity to talk informally about items of interest. All are welcome.
If you are interested in joining Tuesday's Chat, please email Mr. Richter at mrichter@glenview34.org and a Zoom link will be provided.
Illinois Assessment of Readiness (IAR) continues next week
Next week we will wrap up the administration of the Illinois Assessment of Readiness, or IAR. Students will be testing on the following days/times:
- Monday, April 19: 8:15 - 10:00
- Tuesday, April 20: 8:15 - 10:25
Please note that there is no official "opt out" of testing. We are required to provide all students who are in attendance on testing days with the opportunity to test. Students who are absent will be recorded as "Absent for the test." Students who are at school but choose not to take the test must remain in testing rooms. They may read a book, doodle/draw, or wait silently. They cannot access school work or their device during the testing sessions.
