Want Some Ideas on How to Support Literacy Development in Your Child; Check this Out.
“Supporting Early Literacy at Home: A Parent's Guide” is a series of online, self-paced learning modules designed to provide information for parents and caregivers so that they can support their children’s early literacy development. Research shows that parent/caregiver involvement is the number one predictor of early literacy success as well as future academic success. Each learning module will provide information and tips (strategies) that will arm parents/caregivers with tools to support children from birth through the beginning years of school.

Conscious Discipline
Throughout this school year we will share more about how you can partner with us to bring more safety, connection and problem solving to your child and their world.

Produce of the MonthThis month’s Produce of the Month is the TOMATO. We will be serving tomatoes in some form for either breakfast or lunch each week in the month of September in an effort to expose your child to tomatoes and the variety of ways they can be eaten. I hope they like them. Did you know tomatoes are actually fruits? Tomatoes come from ripened flowers and contain seeds, which make them a fruit. They also have a substance called lycopene which gives them their bright red color and helps protect them from the sun. Tomatoes can help protect your cells from damage too and also contain potassium as well as vitamins B and E. If your child is asking for tomatoes, now you know why. If you are looking for different ideas to get your child to try tomatoes or other foods, check this out this article | Saying PleaseAs I mentioned in last month's newsletter, each month of the school year, we will highlight and focus on a different "manner" with all children. This month's, September, focus will be "Saying Please". If you would like to join us, you can focus on this at home as well. When we partner together, we can help our children learn these important social skills more effectively, so PLEASE consider joining us. |
