Safety and Covid Mitigation Protocols/Procedures

In light of the current level of Covid infection rates in our school and/or community, these are some considerations for Taylor Road Middle School. This list is not exhaustive, and it is certainly subject to change as the situation evolves:

  • Arrival and dismissal procedures remain the same.
  • There will be no drop offs allowed except for medications and eyeglasses, computers, and instruments. This includes food, water bottles, class/homework, etc.
  • School schedule/class times remain the same with students accessing instruction and assignments via Teams during remote learning days.
  • Students can see their new schedules in Infinite Campus.
  • No visitors in the building.
  • All students and staff – masks are mandated.
  • Breakfasts and lunches will all be grab and go – no eating in the cafeteria.
  • Currently no before or after school activities this week. These will be determined weekly with school district guidance.
  • 6th and 7th grades are not assigning lockers until further notice to avoid hallway congestion. The 8th grade is evaluating the situation for their students.

If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to Mr. Parker.

Backpacks of Love

At TRMS we have a program called “backpacks of love”. The purpose of this program is to provide assistance by donating non-perishable items to our families. The participants’ names are known only to the counselors and social worker. Once every two weeks a backpack with food items are available to go home. A student can carry the backpack home, or the parent can pick it up at the front office. All we need to know is if you would like to participate, how many adults are in the house, how many children are in the house, and if there are any dietary allergies such as peanut butter. We can only provide for a certain number of families so the sooner you reply the better. We will respond regardless of whether you are in the program or if supplies run out.

6th grade Counselor- Mr. Fredric Johnson

7th grade Counselor- Mrs. Alexcia Massey

8th grade Counselor- Mrs. Cindy Sabula
