July 2014 is the new date for Trainers and Assessors for LLN

Requirements for all vocational trainers and assessors are changing to make sure they have the skills and knowledge to support the development of adult learners' language, literacy and numeracy (LLN) skills.

Innovation and Business Skills Australia (IBSA) has confirmed that... "by July 2014 the unit TAELLN401A Address adult language, literacy and numeracy skills will become part of the core of TAE40110 and all new and existing trainers will need to hold or demonstrate equivalent competency to this unit."

To work as a trainer in Australia’s Vocational Education and Training (VET) sector a trainer must hold the TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (or be able to demonstrate equivalent competencies). When the TAE10 Training Package is revised in July 2014 all new and existing trainers will need to hold, or demonstrate equivalent competency for unit TAELLN401A.

This is an assessment-only process that lets people with existing skills and knowledge demonstrate their competence without having to attend training first. Achieving the unit TAELLN401A through RPL means you will have met your new IBSA requirement for 2014.

Those with prior experience in addressing LLN will find that the TAELLN401A RPL KIT will only take a short time to finish. Once the RPL KIT has been completed and all evidence and associated documentation have been sent to ARTS, we'll have our experienced team assess your submission and if successful issue your TAELLN401A Certificate.
