4 Cs of Deep Learning
This month's issue of #DigitallyINspirEd highlights collaboration, one of the four Cs of learning in a connected classroom. Students need the opportunity to work with their peers in both the physical and digital workspaces. Students also need to learn that collaboration is more than divide and conquer.
Collaboration
Collaboration often takes the form of group work in the classroom. This is an important skill to learn and practice as it gives students an opportunity to work with others they may not normally connect with. Learning teamwork skills will set your students up for success down the road.

Indiana Digital Learning Month Resources
Thank you to everyone who participated in Indiana Digital Learning Month. A special thanks to the educators who took the time to share their expertise in our four webinars. IDOE partnered with organizations and educators to provide several opportunities to learn about strengthening student learning experiences with the effective use of technology in a blended learning environment. Webinar Introducing Changes for the 2021 School Tech Plan Survey
IDOE will host an informational webinar on Wednesday, March 24 at 2 p.m. ET introducing the revised Tech Plan Survey. The updated survey will include traditional questions as well as new questions focused on digital learning and the implications of the pandemic for your technology environment and practices. Completion of this survey is the requirement for all public schools to qualify for the connectivity formula grant, the common school fund, and grants from IDOE’s Office of Academics. Digital Learning Book Study
It's not too late to join us as we read and discuss The Interactive Class: Using Technology to Make Learning More Relevant and Engaging in the Elementary Classroom by Joe and Kristin Merrill. All participants will earn up to 18 PGPs. To participate in this self-paced book study, join the Moodle course using the word "interactive" as the enrollment key. The State Board of Education has approved Indiana’s newly revised Educator Standards for Blended and Online Teaching (formerly Virtual Instruction). This memo provides more information about the standards and how they can be used. Contact Jennifer Watson with questions.
Teacher Opportunities Digital Education Hub
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, educators from the Indiana University School of Education-Indianapolis created the Digital Education Hub (DEH) for Rigorous Learning with Communities. DEH is a comprehensive directory of education, resources, and networking tools and opportunities for educators, community stakeholders, and caregivers. Click here for more information.
Digital Learning Toolkit
The Office of Digital Learning created a toolkit to provide resources to educators. These resources will assist in supporting an effective digital learning program. Check out the Digital Learning Toolkit for more professional learning opportunities.
