Library Media Center

End of Year Newsletter

A note from my laptop to yours

Hello everyone,

WOW....I'm having a hard time believing that a year has already gone by. Time flies when you're having fun. As many of us know, summer is a time to connect with family and friends, relax, to travel to a new place and to READ books that we have not had the time to enjoy. There have been many formal and not so formal research studies done by corporations like Scholastic, universities and classroom teachers that have all confirmed that students who continue to read over the summer improve in their reading skills while students who don't read regress and have to catch up once school starts.

In the newsletter below, you will find lots of information about the purpose for summer reading, some free book resources and my own reading suggestions for students from preschool to adults. I wish you a safe and fabulous summer and look forward to seeing you and your children in August.

Best regards and happy reading,

Jennifer a.k.a. Mrs. G-M
