Armed Forces Day

City of York Council Entertainment Marquee

30 JUNE 2013

York is proud to take part in the national Armed Forces Day (AFD) to raise public awareness and highlight the outstanding contribution made to our country by those who serve and have served in Her Majesty’s Armed Forces.

City of York Council are organising an entertainment marquee in Parliament Street/St. Sampson's Square as part of its Armed Forces Day celebration and are looking for acts to perform at the event which will run from 12noon to 4pm. They are looking for 30 minute slots and have invited York Musical Theatre Company to perform as one of the acts. (The Military Wives Choir are headlining the entertainment.)

York Musical Theatre Company

In keeping with our commitment to offer you the chance to perform in a variety of venues this is a chance for us to contribute to a very worthwhile event and showcase our talent to a new audience in the City.

The plan is to select some material from our popular When The Lights Go on Again production.

So we can let the organisers know whether or not we will perform at the Armed Forces Day event please as soon as possible if you are able to take part. This invite is open to all members, you do not have to have performed in the original production to take part as we will be arranging rehearsal(s) once we know if we have sufficient members available.

Rodgers and Hammerstein Story
