On Friday our high school students viewed the documentary Screenagers and our 7x8 will be watching it on Monday. If you have a middle or high school student, ask them about what they learned. It's a perfect opportunity to talk about screen use.
This past week was the kick off to Black History Month. I always look forward to learning more about history from multiple perspectives. Events celebrating Black history will be happening all over Portland throughout the month. Here is a list of events highlighted in PDX Parent. Our Parents Talk Racial Equity meeting will be happening again on 2/13 at 6:00. Anyone is welcome! I'll send the RSVP next week.
Happy February everyone! I better get to that soccer game:)

Exclusion Day- Message from the School Nurse
Exclusion day for state required immunizations is Wednesday, February 21, 2018. Students who are not current will not be able to attend school until their records are complete. Letters will be mailed the first week of February to parents whose children are incomplete and will be excluded if not updated by February 21, 2018. Please arrange for your child to receive needed immunizations so that they can remain in school. Click HERE for a list of clinics that provide immunizations and see the attachment for an upcoming health fair.
