Principal's Welcome
Hello families!
It’s that time of year and we are looking forward to seeing all of our students walk through our door on Wednesday, August 24!
We have been planning and prepping for this day and it was nice speaking with many of you during the registration day event. 80% of our fifth graders participated in our Web day and they seemed to enjoy themselves and I want to thank Mr. Yoder and Ms. Briggs for leading those activities.
To make the first day run as smooth as possible I would like to share a couple of reminders:
The first day of school is a full day of school - students will need to bring their Chromebooks (Fully Charged!)
Doors do not open until 7:30 AM and 5/6 Academy students who are bus riders will enter a door 2 in the circle drive and car riders enter from the back parking lot at the Student Entrance. Students will be dismissed at 2:40. There is no after school supervision. (Please note that students are dismissed at 2:10 on Mondays.)
Breakfast and lunch will be served on that day and there will be no charge for Lakeview middle school students.
PTA will be available on Monday evening at Meet the Teacher for inquiries and sign up. One of the best ways that you can support your school is by becoming a member and a participant in our PTA. I will also be sharing other opportunities for parent involvement to include being a part of our PBIS team which focuses on the development of positive school culture and climate.
We also have a number of new staff members added to the team this year and their names are listed below please make them feel welcome and let’s show them that Spartan pride!
Please enjoy your weekend! Make sure that your kiddos are rested and ready to go on Wednesday. We look forward to seeing you all at Meet the Teacher on Monday, August 22 from 4 to 7 PM!
If you have any questions or concerns, please call our office at 269-565-3900.

We have numerous staff working in our building to support students both academically, but also emotionally.
Mr. Yoder - Resilience Coach
Mr. Brad Yoder works with students throughout the day. When a student may need a break from the classroom or a plan of success in place, Mr. Yoder works with these students so they can be successful throughout the day.
Ms. Briggs - School Counselor
Ms. Janelle Briggs is our school counselor. She is always available to our students who may be struggling emotionally with school or home situations. She loves meeting one-on-one with students and in small groups to help our students feel confident and successful!
Mrs. Weddle - Reflective Thinking Room Coordinator
Mrs. TyIshaWeddle comes with a wealth of knowledge in working with students who need assistance with de-escalation and problem-solving in order to be successful in the classroom. We can't wait to see the relationships she builds with students!
Mr. Sommerville - Para-Educator
Mr. David Sommerville will work specifically with our support team to assist with student supervision, relationship-building, and the Reflective Thinking Room.
