Greetings Parents and Families! Thank you for showering our staff with love last week! They were so grateful for your tokens of appreciation.


FSA testing continues this week (see schedule below) and we are excited for our students to SHOW what they KNOW! Please ensure they are getting a good night's sleep, eating a healthy breakfast and ON TIME for school.

Class Placements for Next Year

For the 2021-2022, we will be working as a collective staff to create homerooms for next year based upon many factors. Parents are able to request a Parent Input Form from the child's teacher to share their child's educational needs from their perspective. Teachers will use this information to help decide student placement for next year. We are not taking specific teacher requests this year in order to equitably distribute students into homerooms.


Homeroom placements will not be solidified until later in the summer. Parents will be notified during our Registration event at the end of July/early August.

5th & 6th Grade GLOW Event

Ticket sales for the 5th/6th grade GLOW event has been extended through Wednesday, May 12th. Students must have completed parent permission form and $3 cash. Purchase your ticket in the Commons from 7:30a-8:00a. The event will be after school next Friday, May 21st, from 1:30-3:15p.
Westside Elite Running Club is Back!

Westside Elite Running Club is Back!

Running Club is planned to start late September/Early October and open to all K-6th grade students. Any student who participates in the Firecracker 5K or Tailgate 2-Miler this summer will earn early access to Running Club practices in late August. Currently, registration is not open for these races, but will be coming soon. Be sure to connect to the “Westside Elites Running Club” Facebook page for the most current release of information.


All other information for the 2021-2022 season will be given out during registration in July/August and teachers will be given flyers to send home in weekly folders.


The races we are participating this year are:
  • July 4th Firecracker 5K
  • August 15th Tailgate 2-miler
  • Ghostly Gecko 5K
  • Jingle Bell 2-miler
  • Brevard’s Zoo Terrapin Trot 3K
  • Pirate Plunder 2-miler
  • Run for the Gecko

Race information will be distributed and sent out prior to each race. Feel free to sign-up early at RunningZone.com. Please make sure to sign-up your child under Westside Elites Running Club. Parents may sign-up under Westside Teachers and Parents.


Each child must participate in one of the first four races mentioned above to remain in the club for the remainder of the school year.

iReady is an online learning program that builds ELA and Math skills to help students master grade level standards. Students are encouraged to complete lessons with a 90% pass rate.
