- Attention Parents! Wagner Portrait Group will be at school Wed, October 23rd, for Absentee and Retake School Picture Day. If your student was absent on original picture day, please send the order form back to school with your student or you can go online to www.WagnerPortraitGroup.com and use the password: HIX to place your order or click on this direct link https://bit.ly/2JbLGlF . If your student would like a retake, please return the original package in its entirety to the photographer at school. See you on School Picture Day!

- Red Ribbon Week:
Tuesday 10/29 – Blow Out Drugs Day! – Purchase a blow pop for 25 cents from a Step Team Member.
Wednesday 10/30 – Don’t sleep on drugs, be aware! - Wear your favorite PJ bottoms to school for 50 cents!
Thursday 10/31 Keep drugs out of your face! -Two student’s per lunch shift will be drawn to throw a pie in a staff member’s face!
We will also have a Halloween Contest with gift cards for the winners!
All proceeds from the sale of tattoos, blow pops, etc will be used to fund performance uniforms for the step team. Thanks for your support!
- WGSD Parent Safety Information Night
What:The Webster Groves School District will provide families with information about district safety initiatives, including:
· WGSD School Resource Officers will present an overview of 4E (intruder) training that we conduct with district staff and preview an elementary student presentation
· WGSD Superintendent Dr. John Simpson will provide updates on Prop E safety, accessibility, and space measures
When: Wednesday, October 30th at 7:00

Classroom Happenings
ELA- Mrs. Wells
Science- Mr. Hayes & Mr. Geringer
In science this week, students wrapped up their Caine’s Arcade cardboard circuit games. On Tuesday, 4th grade students from Avery and Edgar Road came over to play our games. Our students did a great job with the project! There was lots of positive feedback from many people about the experience on Tuesday.
The remainder of the week, our students completed a formative checkpoint on circuits, they worked on making modifications to their projects, and worked on wrapping up their written portion for their games.
Social Studies- Dr. Rachal
Students in Dr. Rachal’s classes are finalizing their Country Culture Projects for their presentations on Friday the 18th and Monday the 21st. Students have been hard at work discovering lifestyle, economics, government, and geography information about the country of their choice.
ELA- Mr. Gasparovic
In Mr. Gasparovic’s class, students continued their study of Personal Writing: looking for author’s purpose, supporting details, etc. On Thursday, students reviewed and tested their skills in editing (a paragraph) and choosing the best word (word choice). Independent novels (2) are due October 31st; Six Signpost forms are available to complete in Google Classroom.
Social Studies- Mr. Gasparovic
In Mr. Gasparovic’s class, students have started their study of American Government. Students started with pre-assessment(s) on Monday, then turned their attention towards a Shipwrecked! Activity where they collaborated with their classmates to create a government in a sudden situation.
