We Are... Wildcats!

A Message from the Principal
It has been a pleasure partnering together and helping your children to grow academically, and emotionally these past 4 weeks! Our students really thrived learning about gratitude and then showing gratitude often! This really made our school a happier place for all! We will continue to discuss ways to be grateful throughout the year but this next month we are going to focus on anti-bullying and being an upstander. An upstander is someone who speaks-up or acts in support of an individual that is being emotionally or physically hurt. When we are all upstanders, it helps to create a more positive environment while letting everyone know that being hurtful will not be tolerated. Here is a video you could watch with your child that gives different ways to be an upstander: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eeqQCyQOCPg
Any home support in learning our monthly character traits will go a long way!
Continually Grateful,
Mr. Bezeau
Principal

COVID Protocol Update
Our GSD Fall 2021 Covid Protocols have been updated. The GSD Fall 2021 Covid Protocol document can be found HERE. Quarantine protocol 3 was updated. Protocol 3 include the following information:
Protocol 3: If an unvaccinated student properly wears a mask at all times (except when eating or outside for recess/activity) and they are deemed a close contact from the classroom setting, there are circumstances in which the child may continue to attend school. In order for the protocol to apply, the following circumstances must apply:
The continuous wearing of a mask must be verified by each teacher
The lunch setting confirms appropriate spacing between students
Other considerations may be taken into account based on the continual changing landscape of COVID-19 and the guidelines that come from local and state health departments. If this protocol is in place for a student, the student may only continue to attend if symptom-free and a mask is properly worn at all times.
Halloween
Few Things to Remember:
- Please consider a simple costume for school. Students will be wearing them all day.
- Students should be able to use the bathroom independently while wearing their costumes.
- Please choose a costume that does not reflect violence. Inappropriate props such as blood, plastic swords, guns, knives, and weapons of any kind are not allowed even if they are a part of the child's costume. These could be saved for supervised activities at home.
- No costume masks will be allowed as our students will be required to wear their masks with their costumes. There are COVID-19 masks that are Halloween-themed and can be worn.
- Students can wear costume makeup to school but we encourage families to keep Halloween as simple as possible.
