Week 7 Term 1, Friday 18 March

PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE

Kia ora Whanau

We are so happy to have three of our four isolating staff members return to school this week. A massive thank you to my part time teachers for stepping in and keeping our classrooms running effectively!

The following information provides a snapshot of the impact of Covid in our school community this week:

  • 9 children have tested positive (4 became symptomatic at school and were sent home)

  • 8 more children have tested positive at home while isolating as household contacts

  • 42 other children are isolating as household contacts

We have a current roll of 306 so 5% of our children have tested positive for Covid this week.

If your child is absent from school, for any reason, please make contact to let us know - this helps our office staff out a great deal!

Despite the Covid disruption, we've had another lovely week at Onekawa School. Our children's behaviour and engagement in quality learning remains high. Congratulations children!

Have a lovely weekend.

Nga mihi,

Steve
