Criteria A - Inquiring and Analyzing- Sreypich Heng
Introduction
2015-16 school year has started. Most of the secondary building has been re-modified, as well as the rooms. The old library has been turned into a design room. Ms. Guylaine (client) wants the whole grade 9 to create/design a simple and elegant logo for the new design room. By designing this logo, it will help student s to know where the new design class is located. This solution will not only benefit the students, but it will also stand out to parents because the school is able to accept student's ideas.

What Makes A Good Logo?
I asked Ms. Guylaine about programs that I can use to make my final product in. She said the best program would be Illustrator, but photoshop will do fine too. The picture at the bottom shows how to choose which font and color would look together.
What color scheme is trendy/appropriate for this topic?
What shape or size should the logo be in?
Round logos are really trendy at the moment because it's classic and very professional. It kind of reflects the 80s look. It's also very different to other cafe, design studio or any bar's logo around the world. Very little companies think about the shape of their logo when they're creating them, so for those who does think about it, they would choose something very trendy and appropriate for their purpose.

Logo Samples
Sample #1
I love this logo because it's so classy and it really fits my style of designing products. I always want things to be simple, so it reflects the saying "Less is More". The words on it are really simple, the logo provides detail on where their design studio is located and what year it was created. They had the same slogan for the top and bottom, so that wouldn't confuse the audience too much. The stars are also a very good accessory to the logo because it balanced the words with the small piece of detail (stars).
Sample #2
This logo is quite similar to the first one, but this one has more shape into it. The outside is wavy, but it still reflects the round shape. The crown is small touch and it really does bring everything together because the word "ROYAL" and the crown is connecting in some way. I really like this one too, but I wish there could be more colors.
Sample #3
These are also round logos, but they are to be hung in front of their shop or studio. The logo itself are made out of metal and plastic. Hanging the logo makes it look very classy and hipster at the same time.
Design Brief
I am going to create a logo that can be hung in the corner wall, in front of the new design room. I want to do a round logo because it's very unique and different from any other door logos/plates around the school campus. Round logos are very modern and trendy now because it reflects the 80s style of design and the different incorporation of colors. Round logos look very classic, but also elegant at the same time. For my final product, I will include the 3 main Nord Anglia colors (tile, black and white). I want to incorporate these colors because it;s very eye-catching and visitors can easily tell we're in a Nord Anglia Education without having the logo. I didn't want to include the Nord Anglia logo on the final product because it can be overwhelming. The school is basically filled with the same logo. I decided to incorporate those elements in my final product because I found loads of information about round logos and why they are so trendy. Round logos are very trendy because it's more real life and the MYP design room can be elevated into a high class design studio with really talented design agencies (students). Design is all about creativity and finding something unique. This logo will definitely showcase my personality within the school's concepts.
