Farm Security Administration
When and Why
Created in 1937, the Farm Security Administration was created in order to take control of the agricultural problems during that time. The FSA was created because if the frustration due the failure of the New Deal order to help the farmers in poverty.
Impact
The FSA worked with other New Deal agencies to help farmers build wells, they also improved sanitary facilities and mosquito control for labor camps. The FSA worked to get farmers back on their feet. One effort was to document poverty in the rural areas during this time with photography. The images appeared in magazines and newspapers causing awareness to the issue.
