5th Grade Family News

Dear 5th Grade Family,

We are getting ready to wrap up the end of the second nine weeks which means we are half way through the school year! Your child will soon be in middle school soon and we need to help them prepare as much as possible.

How can I help my child? Encourage independence. Ask them if they are using their agenda for planning. Ask them what assessments they have coming up. Please review graded work with them as they still need the at-home support. But, let them have the space to take initiative on their own. This is a critical period of learning and development.

How are things changing at school? We want our students to act like the middle schoolers they are becoming, so we treat them like it. We are no longer stamping agendas, but encourage them to use it everyday. We are increasing the rigor in fifth grade. Students will be required to complete two hours a week of iXL in addition to math homework. The work in the classes is going to increase to include weekly test prep for FSA.

What can we do to make sure they are prepared? Parents can help teachers by staying positive, encouraging early bed times, and helping get their homework in on time. Teachers will help by also staying positive and encouraging your child to do their best daily! We only want the best for your child. Your child's success is very important to us! Thank you for choosing KCC for your child's education.

Take Home Batman the Hedgehog for the Weekend

Take Home Batman Sign Up Genius

Batman is looking to go on vacation with your child! I have some very interested children who would love to take him home.

If you do take him home, I ask that he not be left with other large pets or small children. A shelf is fine where he is out of harms way. He eats cat food and needs to have his bedding cleaned out daily. Your child would receive a Mini Batman Training Course before they take him home. He is easy to take care of. He will have so much fun in your home! Sign up today!
