Each level has scheduled a Back-to-School Night so that parents have an opportunity to meet with teachers to hear about plans for the year and learn more about the instructional program. After the general meeting, you’ll have an opportunity to visit the classroom and hear from your child’s teachers.
Schedule for each evening:
5:30 p.m. - Drop off appetizers outside Gregg G. Juárez Community Hall
5:45 p.m. - Drop off children for child care at the Dino Yard*
5:45 - 5:55 p.m. - Meet-and-Greet for parents outside Gregg G. Juárez Community Hall
6:00 - 7:30 p.m. - Presentation in Community Hall followed by visits to classrooms
*Child Care – Please make sure your child remains in child care for the entire time you are at the event. Reservations are required. Sign up at least one day in advance at https://wikis.labschool.ucla.edu/parents/btsn. Your advance notice ensures we can plan for enough adults to supervise the children. We regret that we cannot accept walk-ins.

After-School Enrichment Starts Monday
Our after-school enrichment classes meet at school once per week for eight weeks and run from 3:15 to 4:15 p.m.

Note: We inform all classrooms about which students are scheduled for enrichment each day. The teachers and TAs drop off those students at the green tables directly behind rooms 7 & 8 at 3:00 p.m. EC I students are accompanied to this location by the Extended Day Program (EDP) staff. At the end of the day, EDP staff pick up students who are enrolled in EDP. Students who will be picked up by parents can be signed out at the main lobby.
Parent Volunteers Needed!
Contribute to Research at UCLA Lab School
CONNECT is looking for a parent willing to volunteer approximately 2 hours per month to help review proposals from researchers seeking to conduct work with our students and teachers. The volunteer will join the CONNECT Research Review Committee, a collaboration between UCLA Lab School staff, Graduate School of Education & Information Studies (GSE&IS) faculty, and UCLA Lab School parents. By reviewing potential research for risks and benefits and providing feedback to researchers, the committee ensures that all studies conducted at UCLA Lab School are designed to protect participants, minimize risk, and reflect the values and priorities of our community. About twice per month, parent volunteers will be asked to evaluate research proposals online and to share their thoughts with the rest of the committee through our web-based review system.

Josephine McNary, mom of Laura, is starting a Brownie troop for second-year Primary girls.
