Welcome Back!

We've had a great week back from spring break. I hope you all had time to relax and enjoy your families.

We continued a bit of work on the Peace Table this week. We made flowers and the covers to journals that will be available for reflecting there. The study of peace is really helping kids work through problems, talk and listen to each other. They are amazing!

Life Science + Fiction Writing= Turtle Projects!

Before break we met Ms. Sarah, a metro parks naturalist, who taught us a ton about toads, turtles, foxes and beavers who live right outside our doors here in Dublin. She gave us tons of information, answered our questions and let us touch some of these cool critters!

We are using what we learned and other resources like books and websites to learn and write about turtles using Pixie, a digital creation tool. We've explored lots of tools in Pixie and will be learning to make the digital writing a video and then embedding it inside of our kidblog accounts so we can all share with each other.

Our Work with Time this week!

Check out our Facebook page for all the activities and discussion we had exploring time. The link is here.

Read Aloud

We've been getting to know Mouse and Mole by Herbert Lee Wong. The discussion and their questions t have been really been helping them understand the story and the characters! They will bring home their thinking notes next week!

We will finish the first book in the series this week but there are many more you can enjoy at home.

Mouse and Mole: Winter Wonderland

Mouse and Mole: Fine Feathered Friends

A Brand New Day with Mouse and Mole

Help!

If you are out and about and can grab a small (16 count) box of crayons for our classroom or if you haven't sent in a Clorox wipes container, we would benefit from both!

Thanks and have a great week!!
